SUPPORTERS' TRIPS
People often express an interest in visiting the projects to better understand the issues and to become more directly involved. To facilitate this, we organise occasional tailor-made trips for supporters. The idea behind these trips is to introduce supporters to the communities, to highlight the way in which we engage with local people and to encourage individuals to continue their support for projects of particular interest.

2011 Trip
In August 2011, we were joined by a group of supporters from a wide range of backgrounds, all of whom contributed to fundraising for projects and participated in activities in Kenya.
2009 Trip
Our 2009 trip began at the coast where participants visited a variety of GIFT projects and enjoyed seeing turtles hatching before heading north west up the Rift Valley. From there we travelled to the Masai Mara to see the progress at Enkereri School and meet with the Masai community. The trip concluded with a visit to the MAGSA project near Ngong where GIFT has supported the development of ladies cattle projects which in turn will enable the development of a nursery school.
2006 Trip
After several years of developing projects in Kenya and raising awareness about our work in Northern Ireland, so many people wanted to know how they could get involved or do something similar - but they didn't know where to begin. In 2006 we were delighted to invite some of these individuals to join us on one of our trips. We set a challenge for each one of them to raise some funds and offered them the opportunity to meet the people and communities their money was supporting. It wasn't all hard work - in addition to visiting local communities and experiencing the real Kenya, they also enjoyed the very best that Kenya has to offer tourists, from magnificent wildlife safaris to turtle watching at the coast.
